Simple rules for using TraceMeal

These Terms apply when you use TraceMeal. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms. You can still use the anonymous recipe analyser without an account.

What TraceMeal provides

TraceMeal provides food-composition, recipe-analysis and nutrition-reference tools. Results depend on the selected food records, quantities, preparation assumptions, serving information and source data available to the application.

Your account

You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping your sign-in credentials reasonably secure and using the service lawfully. Do not attempt to access another person's account or data, bypass access controls, abuse public endpoints, interfere with the service, or use TraceMeal to distribute unlawful or harmful material.

If you are under 18, use TraceMeal with the involvement of a parent or guardian, particularly before storing personal information or making significant dietary decisions.

Your recipes and content

You keep ownership of recipes, notes and other content you submit. You give TraceMeal only the permission reasonably needed to store, process, display, back up and transmit that content so the service can work for you. You are responsible for having the right to submit content you upload or save.

Nutrition information is not individual medical care

TraceMeal is an information and tracking tool. It does not diagnose disease, prescribe treatment, replace a doctor or dietitian, provide emergency medical services, or guarantee that a food entry or nutrient calculation is perfect.

Food composition varies with variety, brand, preparation, storage and cooking, and source databases can contain missing or estimated values. A missing nutrient value does not necessarily mean the nutrient is absent. Australian/New Zealand nutrient reference values are population reference standards, not an individual prescription.

Seek appropriately qualified advice when decisions involve diagnosed conditions, pregnancy, breastfeeding, eating disorders, significant food allergy, medication/nutrient interactions, suspected deficiency or toxicity, therapeutic diets or major dietary changes. Service availability and changes

TraceMeal may change, add, remove or temporarily suspend features for maintenance, security, legal or product reasons. TraceMeal does not promise uninterrupted availability. Reasonable efforts will be made not to destroy or remove user data unnecessarily, but you should keep an export or other backup of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Plans and payments

TraceMeal currently has product architecture for Free, Plus and Pro plans, but paid billing is not yet enabled. If paid subscriptions are introduced, pricing, billing, cancellation and refund information will be shown before purchase and these Terms and the Privacy Policy will be updated where needed.

Intellectual property

The TraceMeal application, branding, original software and original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party datasets and materials remain subject to their own licences and attribution requirements. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or another applicable law.

Responsibility and limitations

To the extent permitted by law, TraceMeal is provided for its stated informational and product purposes and is not responsible for losses caused by misuse of the service, unauthorised access caused by a user's failure to protect their credentials, or reliance on nutrition estimates as a substitute for professional care. This paragraph does not remove rights that the law says cannot be excluded.

Suspension or termination

Access may be restricted or terminated where reasonably necessary for security, unlawful use, serious abuse of the service, material breach of these Terms or legal compliance. You can also delete your own account from the Account page when deletion is configured.

Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated as TraceMeal changes. Material changes affecting account users should be presented clearly before they take effect where appropriate. The “Last updated” date above identifies the current version.

Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by applicable Australian law, subject to any mandatory rights or jurisdiction rules that apply to you. Questions can be sent through the TraceMeal contact form.
